piece of masonite to practice on: approx. 10 x
20 inches
Plastic to cover your vehicle for transportation
of work, as they will have to be taken home with
you after each class.
Large Stay-Wett palette (with paper and sponge).
Make sure that you buy the paper and sponge if
you don’t buy the palette that comes with
them.
If you are interested in palette knifing you can
wait and borrow my palette knives for the first
day or you can go ahead and get some now.
Drawing pad of paper
Small color wheel (the large ones tend to have
less information on them)
Pencil
Brushes: one large flat brush, one medium flat
brush, one small flat brush (for Acrylic Paint)
bring more if you have them
Fluid Acrylic Paint: Minimum: Red, Yellow, Blue,
White, Black (You can bring any colors you like)
(If you already have Heavy Body Acrylic Paint,
that will be fine.)
Large plastic container or cup for water
Paper towels or old rags
A fork (that you do not mind getting paint on)
Large Gallery Wrapped Canvas (You choose your
size. Wait to purchase until after first class
meeting. Keep in mind that this canvas will go
home with you after each class, so it needs to
fit easily in your vehicle.)
Cupcake palette or other plastic containers to
mix paints in
Heavy Gel Matte Medium
Textural Elements: Bring all or pick a
few that seem interesting to you.
Hard Molding paste: (Golden) with palette knife
or carving tool used for wood or clay
Scrap pieces of fabric: look for different textures
and/or patterns of color, old jeans or washcloths
will work. (Bring scissors to cut the fabric and
molding paste or gel medium to glue it down.)
Fine or coarse pumice gel medium: Golden
Fine or coarse garnet gel medium: Golden
Clear Granular gel medium: Golden
Needle and colored threads or yarn
Sand / dirt
Mosaic tiles
Stencils
Other found objects such as pieces of wood or
