Painting for Children (8-12 years)
 
In this class your child will explore texture, pattern, and color as they learn to paint from their imagination and from life. They will be encouraged to try a variety of acrylic painting techniques including dry-brushing and wash and will learn concepts such as abstraction and realism.
 
Supply List

A toolbox or appropriate container for materials.
HB graphite pencil
white or brown block eraser
Small color wheel
Acrylic Paints: Red, Yellow, Blue, Black and White
Variety of Brushes for acrylic (small, medium, large, flat, round, etc.)
Paper Towels and/or old rags
Large cup for water
Two canvases or canvas boards (size of your choice)
Large Stay-Wet palette with paper and sponge
*Students should wear their painting clothes. This may include a smock, an old t-shirt, and/or old pants. They can bring them to change into.
